Personal Statement:

I believe that our mental health is just a piece of the puzzle that makes up who we are. Each of us has physical, mental, and spiritual needs, and to holistically address the challenges in our lives, we need to be nurturing all three. Often in society, it is more socially acceptable to seek help for our physical and spiritual needs, but the mental needs are overlooked or not properly integrated into the other two facets. This realization is what has led me to pursue a career in mental health.

My approach to supporting clients through mental health challenges is two-fold. My first priority is to help my clients understand the therapy process so that they can set their own treatment goals. Clients will not make progress if it is not something they want for themselves. Second, I want to create a supportive environment for clients to ask questions and feel encouraged to come back.

Because healing does not happen overnight, I hope that my clients will have the desire to continue their healing journey through the ups and downs of treatment. Ultimately, I believe that a strong partnership between a client and therapist can make the most difference in the success of treatment. If you work with me, you should expect a deep commitment to you and the work we are doing together. I see your vulnerability as a source of strength, and I hope that you will allow yourself to fully trust the process. You are doing hard work, and I am proud of you for taking this first step into healing!
