Meet our team

Jennifer Wood, MS

CEO

As CEO, Jennifer is committed to the mission of Mindful Health in building an unparalleled patient experience delivered by passionate and dedicated team members. Jennifer has over 18 years’ experience in behavioral health care. She earned a master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Memphis and went on to be involved in all levels of behavioral health including direct care, clinical supervision, program development, hospital administration and executive level leadership. Jennifer has a passion for helping people and building programs that put the patient first. In 2017 she cofounded Pysch Now, a telepsychiatry provider aimed at providing care for rural and historically underserved communities in Texas. Psych Now launched in January of 2018, grew to over 40 practicing physicians, and led to a successful merger with MindCare Solutions in 2020. Jennifer’s goal with Mindful Health is to create a space where people are comfortable with accessing care and where the treatment team considers the whole person when making recommendations.

Sherry Sheffield, PhD, LCSW-S

Director of Employee Engagement

As Director of Employee Engagement, Sherry is committed to ensure the clinical integrity of Mindful Health’s programs and services. Dr. Sheffield has 25 years of clinical experience in behavioral health care. She earned a Master of Social Work and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Sheffield knew at an early age she wanted to be a social worker assisting families in crisis. She has worked extensively with survivors of abuse and families experiencing addiction. She has been involved in all levels of behavioral health care including direct clinical practice, supervision, and program development. As a clinician she believes that genuine, positive regard for self and others is key to wellbeing. She encourages clients to embrace their stories, to view their lives through a lens of compassion, to be authentic and value connecting with others.

Raza Sayed

Chief Medical Officer

Raza Sayed, M.D. is a board-certified general psychiatrist who has practiced in the Dallas area for over 20 years. He received his medical degree from JJM Medical College in Davangere, India and then moved to the United States to complete his Residency in Psychiatry at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, where he received the Outstanding Psychiatry Resident Award. He went on to work in Emergency Psychiatric Medicine at Green Oaks Hospital in Dallas, Texas, where he was one of the founding members of the physician team that started the Psychiatric Emergency Center. He later served as Medical Director of the Emergency Psychiatric Medicine Group that staffed the Emergency Center at Green Oaks. In 2017 he cofounded Pysch Now, a telepsychiatry provider aimed at providing care for rural and historically underserved communities in Texas alongside Jennifer Wood. Psych Now launched in January of 2018, grew to over 40 practicing physicians, and led to a successful merger with MindCare Solutions in 2020.

Cameron Culver, MD, MPH

Executive Medical Director of Virtual Services

Cameron Culver is a double board certified General (adolescent/adult) and Geriatric specialty trained psychiatrist. His path in the healing arts began with undergraduate studies in biology at Baylor University prior to graduate studies at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health in Baltimore, where he obtained his first master's degree in health science. Dr. Culver then received his medical degree (MD) and Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He then completed his residency training at the University of Texas-Southwestern in Dallas, where he served as Chief Resident before continuing with fellowship training as Chief Fellow in geriatrics.

Maggie Howard, MHSA

Senior VP - Business Development

As Senior Vice President of Business Development, Maggie’s goals are to see Mindful Health continue to grow, thrive, and improve the lives of others by providing high-quality, accessible mental health care. She proudly leads the business development and intake departments. Maggie attended the University of Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor of History and African-American Studies. She holds a master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of North Texas. Maggie has spent nearly a decade of her professional life in the mental health and addiction treatment industry. Helping others is her vocation; the courageous individuals whose wellness journeys she has been able to facilitate bring her inspiration. Maggie is a committed member of the foundational leadership team of Mindful Health and is an integral part of the positive culture they’ve created. She is honored to act as a stalwart facilitator of the comprehensive and accessible mental health services provided to the community by Mindful Health. She has served as a board member for Another Solution Inc., The Miracle House Foundation, and Dogs Matter. In addition, she is a passionate advocate for child welfare, adoptive parenting, and Huntington’s Disease advocacy.
